SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Baseline Configuration & SOLMAN_SETUP

When installing Solution Manager, why shouldn't you create a production client by copying 001 to 100 like a normal ABAP system?

Because SAP's delivered client 001 already holds all pre-configuration and is production-ready.

An extra client just multiplies configuration work — the BW client defaults to 001, so a separate one forces RFC connections to read/write across.
