What roles does RFC play inside MAI?

Two things:

  • Pulling data from multiple places in the ABAP stack — e.g. alert status of CCMS monitoring-tree elements (MTEs), and ST-PI/ST-A/PI statistics.
  • Availability monitoring — running connection tests on RFCs to check a system is reachable.
