SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · System Monitoring

How do metric thresholds work in System Monitoring, and what do the three colors mean?

A metric sets parameters and thresholds for extractor-collected data (adjustable on the Data Collection tab, including collection interval), created by SAP and tied to an alert.

Three-color rule:

  • Green — below the yellow threshold (normal).
  • Yellow — warning, needs attention.
  • Red — past the max threshold (critical).

The threshold type must match the collected data type.
