SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · System Monitoring

How do you prevent false alerts during a known-busy period using a work mode?

A work mode sets a start/end window for a managed object and changes its alert/metric config during that window.

Uses: raise thresholds for a known-busy period to stop false alarms, change notification settings (e.g. an offshore team only notified during go-live), or define a maintenance window that disables monitoring. Created and scheduled in the event-planning IT calendar.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
