SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Release Management

How does a major release differ from a minor release in Release Management?

  • Major — long timeframe, lots of new development, delivers the latest SP/enhancements; needs heavy resources + full testing.
  • Minor — much shorter window, only small changes; usually skips full regression + UAT but plans targeted integration testing.

Normal/urgent changes run throughout operations for maintenance and production support.
