SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Retrofit

Instead of transporting an object from the source dev system, what does Retrofit actually do in the target system?

It re-packs the object into a new transport request in the target system, merging with different tools per object scenario — it does not transport the object across.

Flow: maintenance dev releases an object → Retrofit checks/classifies each object → generates retrofit data → applies to the innovation landscape → supports cutover into the maintenance landscape at go-live.
