SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Solution Documentation: Libraries & Process Model

What's the difference between a process step 'original' and a 'reference' in the Process Step Library?

The library stores each step once — that stored step is the original (includes manual/policy/non-SAP steps for completeness).

Reusing an original in a flow adds a reference, which can carry a different title — e.g. the original "Sales Order" appears as "Order Entry" in a flow. Hierarchy stays ≤ 5–7 levels.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
