SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Solution Documentation: Architecture & Config

What does a document status schema define, and what are the rules around signature strategies and locking?

It defines status values and their order when editing.

  • Attach a signature strategy to a schema.
  • Lock a status (e.g. released) so only the matching authorization group can change it.
  • End Status — set after the last signer signs; cancellation status — set when a signature is cancelled.

Status values with a signature strategy must be flagged Locked; the Initial Status can't be Locked. With remote storage, run SMDSCHEMATRANSFER to push the schema to the remote.
