SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Change Request Management (ChaRM)

What do production, maintenance, and development branches mean in a change control landscape?

  • Production branch — an LCG's single production system.
  • Maintenance branch — the dev + quality systems feeding production.
  • Development branch — reserved for new innovation / N+1.

They're driven by transport tracks (activated per TMS config). A change control landscape is the trimmed stencil of LCGs to activate for a release — making large, complex landscapes manageable, consistent, and reusable.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
