SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Integration Monitoring

PI's Component, Channel, and Message monitors — how do they differ in what they let you do?

  • Component Monitor — overall status of a PI domain or across domains; trigger ping/self-test.
  • Channel Monitor — channel status; remotely start/stop/ping channels from SolMan (needs enough rights in the PI landscape).
  • Message Monitor — message stats by sender/receiver, 7-day error/backlog trend, restart or cancel messages.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
