SAP PI channel/message monitoring offers two templates — when do you use the dual-stack/Java-only one versus the ABAP-only one?

  • Dual-stack / Java-only — needs PI 7.11 SP06+, managed system config done, and PI's SLD synced to the LMDB.
  • ABAP-only (no adapter engine) — needs PI Basis 6.40+ and ST-A/PI 01L+.
