It dropped the project+solution architecture (7.0/7.1 had many solutions + many projects) for a single solution with reusable components.
The old project concept (SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) is replaced by SAP PPM; branches handle solution versioning + flexible landscape assignment.
