SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Change Impact Analysis (TBOM/BPCA/SEA)

What is a TBOM, and how does BPCA use it to pinpoint impact?

A technical bill of materials — the list of all objects in an executable (UI elements, module pool, function modules, tables); objects hang under a TBOM enhancement.

BPCA determines impact by comparing a TBOM's objects with the objects a change modifies. Because each TBOM is explicitly attached to a transaction/program of a scenario/process/step, it pinpoints which part of the business process is affected.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
