SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Release Management

What does Release Management add to the change-control framework, and who is it for?

A new 7.2 module (also called release planning) that manages all changes' successful deployment to production via defined dates + a release plan — for organizations ready for the discipline.

It uses the release cycle (SMRE) to plan major/minor releases with deployment dates. At go-live only changes marked successfully tested deploy; the rest auto-decouple and reassign to a successor release cycle.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
