SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Business Process Operations

What does Job Management standardize, and what did 7.2 add?

A standardized formal process for scheduling managed-system background jobs (request/change/documentation/scheduling/error handling).

7.2 integrates with the Solution Landscape Unified Directory, adds a Gantt chart and scheduling assistant, and can monitor custom job types. Goal: centrally store each job's documentation, govern job change/creation via a process integrable with ITSM/ChaRM, and let the OCC team monitor all background jobs across all managed systems.
