Web service call monitoring has two template families — how do the ABAP-internal and non-ABAP options differ?

  • ABAP-internal — needs 7.0+ and ST-PI 2008 SP05+, enabled per SAP Note 1639329; monitors synchronous calls only, and can't monitor SAP PI web-service protocols.
  • Non-ABAP (Wily EM) — only AS Java or Apache Tomcat, and only outbound calls.
