SAP Solution Manager 7.2 · Downgrade Protection & CSOL

What is the CSOL, and what's its relationship to downgrade protection?

The Cross-System Object Lock is downgrade protection's core component, prerequisite, and engine.

It tracks objects in transport requests and raises a conflict when an object is saved into more than one transport targeting the same production system. Supports ABAP development + Customizing objects; all transports must originate from ChaRM/QGM change documents; locks live in SolMan and release once the transport reaches production.

This is one card from the KnowCard library. The full way to learn it — spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, and AI explanations — lives in the KnowCard app. We’re in private beta now; iOS & Android are coming soon.
